A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to non-existent email addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss emails because the other side has an outdated address or has made a typo. The disadvantage of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of spam emails, but this issue can be rectified using anti-spam protection software. It is also essential to remember that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming messages to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

If you have a Linux hosting package with us and you wish to activate the catch-all functionality for a given email mailbox that you have in the hosting account, it will take literally only a single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available next to each email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in your account. You can choose one single address per domain name by clicking the respective button. This will enable the feature right away, so all email messages sent to mistyped addresses will be received there. Clicking the button again will disable the catch-all feature. In case you have active email forwarding, our system will exhibit a cautionary note and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature till you delete the forwarding or you can simply select another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all option can be enabled without difficulty in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with our company. All the email addresses that you have created with the domains hosted in the account will be displayed in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and you will notice a mini icon handily located right next to each one of them. With only a mouse click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your liking on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with this option already activated and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and enable this feature using the menu that will come into view. In case any of the conditions for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not fulfilled, our system will inform you, but will not replace or disable anything automatically.
